Standard Procedure - Parking Brake Adjustment

NOTE:
Park brake adjustment should only occur after rear brake pads or park brake cables have been replaced.
- Remove the floor console. Refer to CONSOLE, FLOOR, REMOVAL .
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING
.
- Mark the position of the adjuster nut (1) then loosen the nut at least three turns to slacken the cables.
- Start the engine and operate the brake pedal at least ten times.
- Bring the park brake lever to the fifth notch on the toothed sector.
- Tighten the adjuster nut (1) on the park brake lever until the rear wheels are braked.
- With the park brake lever in the rest position check that the rear wheels turn freely.
- Switch off the engine.
- Remove the supports and lower the vehicle.
- Install the floor console. Refer to CONSOLE, FLOOR, INSTALLATION .
