Spindle, Rear: Removal

NOTE:
Before proceeding. Refer to WARNING .
- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING .
- Remove the wheel mounting bolts (1), then the rear tire and wheel assembly.
- Remove the hub and bearing dust cap (2).
- Remove the rotor mounting pins (1).
- Remove the caliper adapter bracket mounting bolts (7), then remove the disc brake caliper (6) and adapter as an assembly.
- Hang the caliper (6) out of the way using a wire hanger or bungee cord. Do not allow the caliper to hang by the flex hose; damage to the hose may occur.
- Remove the brake rotor (3).
- Remove the hub nut (1) and washer (2), then slide the hub and bearing (4) from the spindle (5).
- On vehicles equipped with antilock brakes, remove the screw (2) securing the antilock brake wheel speed sensor to the hub. Remove the sensor head from the hub.
- Remove the four bolts (1) securing the spindle to the axle and remove the spindle from the axle.
