The A/C condenser (1) is located at the front of the engine compartment, behind the front fascia. The A/C condenser is a heat exchanger that allows the high-pressure refrigerant gas being discharged by the A/C compressor to give up its heat to the air passing over the condenser fins, which causes the refrigerant to cool and change to a liquid state.

CAUTION:

The A/C condenser and receiver/drier must be replaced as an assembly if an internal failure of the A/C compressor has occurred. Failure to replace the A/C condenser and receiver/drier can cause serious damage to the replacement A/C compressor.

The A/C condenser is equipped with integral mounting tabs (3, 5 and 7), a tapping block (4) for the A/C receiver/drier (2), and a tapping block (6) for the A/C refrigerant lines.
