Housing-Air Inlet

Manual Temperature Control (MTC) shown. Automatic Temperature Control (ATC) similar.
- Remove the HVAC housing assembly and place it on a workbench. Refer to HOUSING, HVAC, REMOVAL .
- Remove the air inlet housing from the HVAC housing. Refer to HOUSING, HVAC, REMOVAL .
- Remove the two screws (1 and 3) that secure the recirculation door actuator (2) to the air inlet housing (4) and remove the actuator.
- Remove the recirculation door coupler (1), located at the bottom of the air inlet housing (2). First, using a small flat bladed screwdriver, reach through the recirculation door grill and disengage the retaining tab, located on the bottom of the recirculation air door. Then pull the coupler straight out.NOTE:
If the foam seal on the air inlet housing is deformed or damaged, the seal must be replaced.
- Carefully cut the foam seal (1) along the parting lines (1 and 4) of the two halves of the air inlet housing (3).
- Remove the five screws (2, 4, 5 and 7) that secure the two halves of the air inlet housing together (1 and 5) and separate the housing.NOTE:
If a rubber seal on the recirculation air-door is deformed or damaged, the air-door must be replaced.
- Remove the recirculation air door (1) from the upper half of the air inlet housing (2).
