Lamp, License Plate: Removal

WARNING:
On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, disconnecting the 12-volt battery negative cable alone will not power down the 12-volt system. You must perform the 12-volt Power Down procedure before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury. Refer to 12-VOLT POWER DOWN .
- On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, power down the 12 volt system, Refer to 12-VOLT POWER DOWN .
- Disconnect the negative 12 volt battery cable.
- Use a small screwdriver inserted into the notch at one end of the license plate lamp (3) lens on the underside of the liftgate light bar and handle unit (1) to release the latch tab (2) that secures the lamp in the light bar receptacle.
- Pull the lamp down from the light bar far enough to access and disconnect the light bar wire harness connector from the connector receptacle on the top of the lamp housing.
- Remove the lamp from the vehicle.
