Lamp - Hatchback

  1. Position the Center High Mounted Stop Lamp (CHMSL) (2) to the back of the liftgate upper trim cover.
  2. Install and tighten the two screws that secure the CHMSL to the back of the upper trim cover. Tighten the screws securely.
  3. Position the CHMSL and upper trim cover unit close enough to the upper inner liftgate to access and reconnect the wire harness connector (1) to the connector receptacle on the left end of the CHMSL socket plate.

  4. Position the CHMSL and trim cover unit to the inner liftgate panel above the glass.
  5. Install and tighten the two screws that secure the trim cover and CHMSL unit to the inner liftgate panel. Tighten the screws securely.
  6. Snap the plastic covers over the two mounting holes (1) of the trim cover.
  7. Connect the 12 volt negative battery cable.
  8. Power up the high voltage system. Refer to HIGH-VOLTAGE POWER UP .
