Seat, Rear: Installation
NOTE:
Right side shown. Left side typical except where noted.
- With the help of an assistant, position the rear seat onto the seat riser, with the torsion bars behind the front of the riser.
- Loosely install the fasteners (2) into the rear seat hinges (3).
- Rotate the seat forward.
- Use a suitable support device to hold the seat in the forward position.
- Connect the rear seat support cylinder from the right rear seat.
- Insert the torsion bars (1) onto the torsion bar brackets (1) fully.
- Tighten the torsion bar bracket fasteners (2) securely.
- Remove support device and lower the rear seat.
- Tighten the fasteners (2) for the rear seat hinges (3) securely.
- Remove the block previously placed in the seat latch striker area on the seat riser, to prevent latching of the seat once lowered.
- Rotate the seat rearward and latch into place.
- Check the seat for proper functions.
- Repeat steps 4 through 15 to install the left side rear seat.
- Position the rear portion of the passenger carpet (2 and 3) to the seat riser, torsion bars and hinges and insert through the appropriate spaces.
- Insert the rear portion (2 and 3) into the appropriate positions of the seat riser.
- Install the pushpin fasteners (2) located between the hinges of rear seats (1).
- Position the intermediate load platform cover (1) into the vehicle.
- Insert the intermediate load platform cover (1) onto the rear seat riser (2), making certain all the seat latch strikers are fully inserted into the appropriate slots.
- Position and insert the carpet trim panel (1).
- Install the push pin fasteners (2) into the carpet trim panel (1).
- Repeat on the opposite side.
- Position the rear seats in the latched positions.
