Cover, Seat Cushion, Rear: Removal

CAUTION:

When the seat is removed from the vehicle, only use the backrest adjustment lever to move the backrest. Do not use the seat folding lever to move the backrest. Damage may occur to the seat folding mechanism.

NOTE:

Right seat shown in the illustration. Left side seat similar.

  1. On the outboard side cover (3), using a small flat bladed tool or equivalent, remove the fastener cover from the recliner lever (2) and fastener (4).
  2. Remove the fasteners (1 and 4).
  3. Remove the recliner lever (1).
  4. Remove the fastener cover from the rear of the side cover (5) and remove the fastener within.
  5. Remove the outboard side cover (3) from the seat.

  6. On the inboard side cover (1), using a small flat bladed tool or equivalent, remove the fastener cover from the fastener (3).
  7. Remove the fasteners (3) from the inboard side cover.
  8. Remove the fasteners cover and fastener from the rear of the inboard side cover (2).
  9. Remove the inboard side cover (1) from the seat.

  10. Remove the fasteners (2) from the seat adjuster cover (1).
  11. Remove the seat adjuster cover (1) from the seat.
  12. Repeat on the opposite side.

  13. With the use of (special tool #C-4829A, Remover, Trim) or equivalent, remove the retainers from the rear close out cover (2).
  14. Remove the rear close out cover (2) from the seat.
    NOTE:

    Seat belt buckle anchor is only required when servicing the right side seat.

  15. Remove the center seat belt buckle anchor. Refer to BUCKLE, SEAT BELT, REMOVAL .
  16. Release the hook and loop fastener from the front closeout cover.

  17. With the use of (special tool #C-4829A, Remover, Trim) or equivalent, remove the retainers (2) from the front close out cover (2).
  18. Remove front close out cover (2).

  19. Unfasten the hook and loop fastener (1).
  20. Repeat on the opposite side.
  21. Release the J-channel fasteners (2) from the perimeter of the seat cushion frame (3).
  22. Remove the seat cushion and cover from the seat cushion frame.

    NOTE:

    Do not discard the fabric (1) located between the seat cover (2) cushion, and seat cushion frame.

  23. Remove the fabric (1) from the bottom of the seat cushion seat and seat cushion cover (2).

  24. Completely, fold the seat cushion cover (1) to the top of the seat cushion (2), exposing the hog rings.

  25. Remove the hog rings (2) that secure the seat cushion cover (1) to the seat cushion (3).
  26. Remove the seat cushion cover (1) from the seat cushion (3).
