Rear Seat Restraint Sleeves

CAUTION:

Take great care not to damage the seat cover.

  1. On the outboard side cover (3), using a small flat bladed tool or equivalent, remove the fastener cover from the recliner lever (2) and fastener (4).
  2. Remove the fasteners (1 and 4).
  3. Remove the recliner lever (2).
  4. Remove the fastener cover from the rear of the side cover (5) and remove the fastener within.
  5. Remove the outboard side cover (3) from the seat.

  6. On the inboard side cover (1), using a small flat bladed tool or equivalent, remove the fastener cover from the fastener (3).
  7. Remove the fasteners (3) from the inboard side cover.
  8. Remove the fasteners cover and fastener from the rear of the inboard side cover (2).
  9. Remove the inboard side cover (1) from the seat.
  10. Remove the headrest.

  11. Temporarily install the recliner lever to the outboard side cover area and carefully move the backrest forward.
  12. Untuck the ends of the right and left side zippers (1) and bottom zipper (3) from the bottom of the seat back cover (2).
  13. Unfasten both side zippers (1) and bottom zipper (3).
  14. Use the recliner lever to move the backrest to the upright position.

    NOTE:

    Steps 14 through 16 are only to be performed when servicing the right side rear seat.

  15. Remove the armrest (1). Refer to ARMREST, REAR, REMOVAL .
  16. Remove the center seat belt buckle anchor. Refer to BUCKLE, SEAT BELT, REMOVAL .
  17. Raise the seat back cushion slightly and unfasten J-channell retainers from the back of the seat cover in the armrest area.

    NOTE:

    Shown without backrest seat cover and cushion for clarity.

  18. Raise the front of the backrest cushion and cover to access the head restraint sleeves (1).
  19. With the use of a hook tool (2) or equivalent, press in the head restraint sleeve retaining tab.

  20. Remove the head restraint sleeve (1) pushing it upward.
