Molding, Front Wheel Opening: Removal
Fender
- Release the front wheel opening molding (1b) push pins (1a), using the tool (special tool #C-4829A, Remover, Trim), or equivalent.
- Carefully release the retainers (2a) from the molding (1b) of the front wheel opening, with the suitable tool; then release the adhesive strip (1c) all around the upper profile of the molding (1b).
- If the retainers (2a) are damaged during removal, replace them.
- Cautiously release the end (3a) from the retainer (3b) of the front fascia molding (3c).
- Remove the molding (lb) releasing it from the wheel opening molding (4a).NOTE:
The front wheel opening molding cannot be recovered after removal, as its adhesive strip gets damaged.
Fascia
- Remove the front wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to SHIELD, SPLASH, FRONT WHEELHOUSE, REMOVAL .
- Proceeding with caution, release the first two retainers (1a) from the molding (1b) of the front wheel arch, also detaching the length of adhesive strip (1c) using a (special tool #C-4829A, Remover, Trim) or equivalent.
- Remove the bottom screw (1a) of the molding (1b).
- Working from the wheel arch, remove the screws (1a) of the molding (1b).
- Remove the molding (1b) releasing the inner retainers.
