Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
- Make sure that one of the front doors are open when performing the diagnostic test.
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on repair order.
- With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
- Turn the Radio on.
- With the scan tool, read Radio DTCs.
Is the DTC active?
Yes
- Go to 2
No
- Test Complete. The condition(s) that originally set this DTC are no longer present. Inspect the antenna cable connections between the Radio to the GPS antenna.
- GPS OPERATION
Does the GPS function properly?
Yes
- The satellite radio and GPS share the same antenna cable. If the Satellite radio is functioning properly, replace the GPS Antenna puck in accordance with the service information.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Go to 3
- TEST THE SATELLITE/GPS ANTENNA CABLE
- Disconnect the Satellite/GPS Antenna cable at the Satellite Antenna.
- Connect the appropriate Radio Diagnostic Tool (special tool #9977-6-1, Adapter) or (special tool #9977-6-3, Adapter) to the Satellite Antenna cable at the back of the Radio.
- Connect the appropriate Radio Diagnostic Tool (special tool #9977-6-4, Jumper) or (special tool #9977-6-2, Jumper) to the Satellite Antenna cable at the Satellite Antenna base.
- Measure the Resistance across the terminals on the tool.
Is the resistance below 47.5 Ohms?
Yes
- Use the (special tool #9977-6, Kit, Radio Antenna Diagnostic) to locate the short. Repair or replace the Satellite Antenna cable as necessary.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the Radio in accordance with the Service Information. (Refer to RADIO .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
