Seal, Axle Drive Shaft: Installation

  1. Clean axle shaft seal bores
  2. Install the left side axle seal using Seal Installer (special tool #10303, Installer, Differential Oil Seal) (2) and (special tool #C-4171, Driver Handle, Universal) (1).
  3. Tap seal into position until seated against transmission case.

  4. Install the right side axle seal using Seal Installer (2) and Handle (1).
  5. Tap seal into position until seated against transmission case.
  6. Install axle shaft. Refer to INSTALLATION .
  7. Check transmission fluid level and adjust as necessary. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
