Reservoir, Power Electronics Coolant: Removal

When performing any repairs that involve contact with high voltage components or systems, the technician performing repairs on the vehicle must verify that the system remains powered down during high voltage repairs.
- This must be done by removing the service disconnect.
- The high voltage power down procedure must also be performed to ensure that the vehicle is properly powered down.
- The technician must know the whereabouts of the service disconnect throughout the repair.
- The technician must ensure that no one reconnects the service disconnect while service is being performed.
- The technician must recheck that the service disconnect has not been reinstalled in cases where the vehicle was unattended.
- Power down the high-voltage system. Refer to HIGH-VOLTAGE POWER DOWN PROCEDURE .
- Disconnect the negative 12-volt battery cable.
- Remove the cap from the power electronics coolant reservoir.
- Raise the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING .
- Remove the lower radiator air deflector.
- Place a suitable drain pan below the power electronics coolant radiator drain cock.
- Open the power electronics coolant radiator drain cock and drain the power electronics coolant until it stops.
- Lower the vehicle.
- Remove the power electronics coolant reservoir bolt (1) and nut (2).
- Release the power electronics coolant reservoir vent hose clamp (1) and disconnect the vent hose.
- Release the Power electronics coolant reservoir hose clamp (2) and disconnect the hose.
- Remove the power electronics coolant reservoir (3).
