Pedal And Pad, Clutch: Installation

  1. Install the clutch pedal/brake pedal assembly. Refer to PEDAL(S), BRAKE AND/OR ACCELERATOR, INSTALLATION .

  2. Position the retainer (2) up to install the booster rod to the pedal assembly. Push the retainer down, engage the clips (1) on booster rod keeper assembly retainer (2).

  3. Connect the clutch start (1) and brake lamp switches (2).

  4. Install the supply hose (1) to the brake master cylinder crimp the NEW  hose clamp with Crimping Pliers (special tool #10288, Pliers, Hose Clamp).
  5. Install the battery tray. Refer to TRAY, BATTERY, INSTALLATION .
  6. Install the battery. Refer to BATTERY, INSTALLATION .
  7. Raise and support the vehicle.

  8. Connect the supply pipe (1) to the master cylinder.

  9. Install the bracket (2) and the bracket bolts (1) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .

  10. Connect the intermediate shaft (1) at the base of the column of the steering column to the steering gear pinion shaft (3).
  11. Install the NEW  intermediate shaft pinch bolt (2) and tighten to the proper torque specifications. Refer to TORQUE SPECIFICATIONS .
  12. Remove the support and lower the vehicle.
  13. Bleed the clutch hydraulic circuit. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
