Switch, Parking Brake: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
  2. Remove the park brake lever mechanism (1) from the floor panel transmission tunnel. Refer to LEVER, PARKING BRAKE, REMOVAL .

  3. Using a flat-bladed screwdriver, disengage the metal retainer clip (1) at the rear of the park brake switch from the groove stamped into the right side of the park brake lever base bracket (3).
  4. Disengage the plastic tab (2) at the front of the switch housing from the slot of the park brake lever base bracket.
  5. Remove the park brake switch from the park brake lever base bracket.
