WARNING:

On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, disconnecting the 12-volt battery negative cable alone will not power down the 12-volt system. You must perform the 12-volt Power Down procedure before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

NOTE:

The park assist sensors and the sensor spacers (O-rings) are each available for separate service replacement. The following service procedure can be used for reassembling any or all of these components to the rear bumper fascia.

  1. Perform the 12-Volt Power Down procedure. Refer to 12-VOLT POWER DOWN .
  2. From the back of the fascia (4), disconnect the wire harness connector from the park assist sensor (1) connector receptacle.
  3. Carefully pry the sensor bracket (3) latch features away from the latch tabs of the sensor far enough to disengage the sensor from the bracket.
  4. Disengage the resilient O-ring spacer (2) from around the circumference of the sensor membrane protrusion.
