Pads, Brake, Rear: Removal

- Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING .
- Remove the tire and wheel assembly. Refer to REMOVAL
.CAUTION:
Never allow the disc brake caliper to hang from the brake hose. Damage to the brake hose will result. Provide a suitable support to hang the caliper securely.
- While holding the slide pins stationary, remove the disc brake caliper guide pin bolts (3).
- Remove the caliper from the caliper mounting bracket. Hang the caliper using wire or a bungee cord.
- Remove the inboard brake pad from the caliper adapter bracket.
- Remove the outboard brake pad from the caliper adapter bracket by prying the brake pad outward until it clears the bracket and then remove the pad from the vehicle.
