Linkage, Wiper Arm: Removal

WARNING:
On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, disconnecting the 12-volt battery negative cable alone will not power down the 12-volt system. You must perform the 12-volt Power Down procedure before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
NOTE:
The front wiper motor can be removed from the wiper linkage module and is serviced independently from the remainder of the wiper linkage module for this vehicle. Refer to MOTOR, WIPER, REMOVAL .
- Perform the 12-Volt Power Down procedure. Refer to 12-VOLT POWER DOWN .
- Remove both front wiper arms from the wiper pivots. Refer to ARM, WIPER, REMOVAL .
- Remove the cowl plenum cover/grille panel from over the front wiper linkage module. Refer to COVER, COWL PANEL, REMOVAL .
- Remove the two screws (3) that secure the module bracket to the cowl plenum.
- Disengage the knob-like rubber insulator from the hole in the rearward wall of the cowl plenum.
- Disconnect the wire harness connector (2) from the connector receptacle for the front wiper motor.
- Disengage the wire harness retainer (1) from the linkage module bracket.
- Remove the front wiper linkage module from the cowl plenum as a unit.
