Diagnostic Test

  1. VERIFY THE DTC IS ACTIVE 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. Using the scan tool, read RBC DTCs.

      Is the DTC active at this time?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

  2. VERIFY THAT THE POWER INVERTER MODULE (PIM) IS ACTIVE ON THE BUS 
    1. Using the scan tool, select Network Diagnostics.
    2. Verify that the PIM is active on the bus.

      Is the PIM active on the bus?

      Yes 

      • Go To  3

      No 

  3. REGENERATIVE BRAKE CONTROLLER (RBC) 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Replace the Regenerative Brake Controller (RBC) in accordance with service information. Refer to CONTROLLER, REGENERATIVE BRAKE (RBC), REMOVAL .
    3. Perform the RBC VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
    4. Turn the ignition on.
    5. Using the scan tool, read ABS DTCs.

      Does the DTC remain active?

      Yes 

      • Replace the Power Inverter Module (PIM) in accordance with service information. Refer to MODULE, POWER INVERTER (PIM), REMOVAL .
      • Perform the PIM VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to the appropriate Diagnostic information .

      No 

      • Test complete.
