Section 2 (Body - Interior & Exterior - 500 - Electric): Sunroof: Cleaning

NOTE:
The grease used for the maintenance of the sunroof is MS-9987 Uniflor 8172 or equivalent. The Molykote EM 50L, as stated in the video, is no longer the recommended product.

- Remove the antenna mast (2) from the antenna base (1).
- Open the glass panel (2) to the fully opened position.
- Unlock/remove the two torx screws from the lateral guide. Repeat this step for the opposite side.
- Remove the glass panel (2) from the sunroof.
- Press the vehicle's sunroof switch and slide the mechanism into it's tilting position.
- Using isopropyl alcohol and a shop towel, start the cleaning procedure from the belt (1).
- Clean the lateral guides (1) thoroughly.
- Clean the glass sliding shoes, the inside and the sides of the glass guides (1).
- Using MS-9987 Uniflor 8172 or equivalent and a brush, thoroughly apply grease to the glass sliding shoes, the insides and the sides of the glass guides (1).
- Apply grease to mechanism belts (1) and guides (2).
- Push the switch and open the mechanism to the maximum opened position.
- Insert the glass panel (2) to the mechanism. It is important the sliding shoes are correctly installed into the guides.
- Install the two torx screws to the lateral guide and tighten securely. Repeat this step for the opposite side.
- Close the sunroof completely.
- Install the antenna mast (2) to the antenna base (1).
- Perform the sunroof motor reinitialization procedure to verify the sunroof is functioning properly. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE .
