Panel, Cowl Trim, Side: Removal

  1. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  2. Position the front seat forward.
  3. Partially remove the weatherstrip from the lower half of the door.
  4. Remove the screw (4) located in the rear of the cowl/scuff panel (1).
  5. Using trim stick (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) or equivalent, starting at the rear and working forward, pry up to disengage the retaining clips (2, 3). Do not remove the cowl/scuff panel at this time.

  6. Remove the front screw (3) from the cowl/scuff panel (1).
  7. Disengage the cowl/scuff panel (1) upper retaining clip by pulling rearward on the cowl/scuff panel.
  8. Remove the cowl/scuff panel (1) and repeat steps for the opposite side.
