Diagnostic Test

WARNING: This page is about a different variant/trim than selected.
  1. CHECK FOR RESOLVER DTC'S 
    1. With the scan tool, record the Environmental Data for this DTC.
    2. Clear the DTC.
    3. Ignition off wait at least one minute.
    4. Turn the Ignition on, Vehicle in ready mode.
    5. With the scan tool check for active Resolver DTCs.

      Did any Resolver DTCs set?

      Yes 

      Diagnose these DTCs first in accordance with the service information.

      No 

      • Go To  2
  2. CHECK IF THE DTC IS ACTIVE 
    NOTE:

    For vehicle communication problems, use the scan tool to refer to the Network Review Screen. The screen depicts a high level view of the vehicle network. Fault and problem areas appear in red. Selecting any of the network components allows access to the source of the problem.

    With the scan tool, record the Environmental Data for this DTC.

    1. Clear the DTC.
    2. Ignition off wait at least one minute.
    3. Turn the Ignition on, Vehicle in ready mode.
    4. With the scan tool check for active DTCs.
    5. If any loss of CAN DTCs are active, repair these first in accordance with the service information.

      Did the DTC reset?

      Yes 

      • Perform the following Standard Procedures. Refer to STANDARD PROCEDURE . If no defects are found in the 3 Phase Wire Harness or the e-Motor then go to  3.
      Visual check of 3-Phase Wiring Harness between e-Motor and PIM
      Check continuity and short circuit of 3-Phase Wiring Harness
      Check electrical resistance between e-Motor phases
      Resolver Relearn Procedure

      No 

      • Check the Environmental Data, If this DTC has occurred more than 3 times, go to  3.
      • Check the Environmental Data, If this DTC has occurred less than 3 times, then the condition that caused this code to set is not present at this time. Check for an intermittent condition by inspecting the related wiring harness for chafed, pierced, pinched, and partially broken wires. Also inspect the related connectors for broken, bent, pushed out, spread, corroded, or contaminated terminals.
      • Perform the EVCU VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to EVCU VERIFICATION TEST .
  3. POWER INVERTER MODULE 
    1. Using the wiring diagram/schematic as a guide, inspect the wiring and connectors.
    2. Look for any chafed, pierced, pinched or partially broken wires.
    3. Look for broken, bent, pushed out or corroded terminals. Verify that there is good pin to terminal contact.
    4. Refer to any Technical Service Bulletins that may apply.

      Were there any problems found?

      Yes 

      No
