Guide, Sunroof, Glass: Installation

If necessary, clean the sunroof glass guide bowden cable.
NOTE:
The sunroof glass guide (1) bowden cable (2) must be clean and not lubricated.

Be certain the front of the glass guide slide (1) is fully forward to the mechanical stop on the sunroof glass guide (3).
If not in full forward position, push the back of the slide (2) fully forward, with the use of an appropriate tool.

Insert the bowden cable into the mechanism tube (2).
Move the sunroof guide rearward, sliding the bowden cable into the mechanism tube (2) fully.
Guide the sunroof glass guide onto the tapered end of the mechanism tube (2).
Loosely install all of the sunroof glass guide fasteners.
Install and tighten the mechanism tube fasteners (1) securely.

Align the rear sunroof glass guide fasteners (1) to the marks previously made on the sunroof frame.
Tighten the rear sunroof glass guide fasteners (1) securely.

Align the front sunroof glass guide fasteners (1) to the marks previously made on the sunroof frame.
Tighten the front sunroof glass guide fasteners (1) securely.

With the use of a tape measure or equivalent, measure from a point on the sunroof glass guide edge (2) to the same point on the opposite side sunroof glass guide edge.
This measurement must be 810 mm (31.9 in.).
Repeat this measurement along the length of the sunroof glass guide (1).
If necessary, loosen the fasteners and adjust the sunroof glass guide (1) to maintain the 810 mm (31.9 in.) measurement. Tighten the fasteners securely.
Verify the front glass guide slide is fully forward to the mechanical stop on the sunroof glass guide as described in step 1-2.

Install the sunroof motor (3). Refer to MOTOR, SUNROOF, INSTALLATION .

Align the sunroof crossmember trim (2) to the sunroof crossmember.
With the use of hand pressure, engage the rear retainers fully.
Repeat on the front (1) retainers and verify the sunroof crossmember trim (2) is fully seated.

Install the sunshade (1). Refer to SUNSHADE, SUNROOF, INSTALLATION .

Align the wind deflector guard (1) to the sunroof opening.
Install the fasteners (2) and tighten securely.
Repeat on the opposite side.

Align the wind deflector mount (2) to the sunroof frame.
Position the spring (1) and install the wind deflector mount fasteners (3).
Tighten the wind deflector mount fasteners (3) securely.

Install the wind deflector (2). Refer to DEFLECTOR, WIND, INSTALLATION .
Use the sunroof switch to move the sunroof glass guides (1) to the vent position and rearward approximately 10 mm (3/8 in.).

Install the sunroof glass (2). Refer to GLASS, SUNROOF, FRONT, INSTALLATION .
Initialize the sunroof motor. Refer to MOTOR, SUNROOF, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
Verify proper sunroof and sunshade operation.
If necessary adjust the sunroof glass and/or sunshade. Refer to GLASS, SUNROOF, FRONT, ADJUSTMENTS .
Install the headliner. Refer to HEADLINER, INSTALLATION .
