Frame, Seat Back, Rear: Installation

CAUTION:

When the seat is removed from the vehicle, only use the back rest adjustment lever to move the back rest. Do not use the seat folding lever to move the back rest. Damage may occur to the seat folding mechanism.

  1. Position the seat belt buckle(s) to the seat back frame.
  2. Install the seat belt buckle fastener and tighten to 40 Nm (30 lbf-ft).

  3. If servicing the right side seat, position the seat belt retractor.
  4. Install the seat belt retractor fastener and tighten to 40 Nm (30 lbf-ft).

  5. Position the seat back panel (3) slightly above the seat back frame and slide down, inserting the seat panel hooks (2) onto the seat back frame.
  6. Push the seat back panel inward, engaging the lower clips (4).
  7. Install zip ties (1) securing the seat back panel to the seat back frame.

  8. Position the fabric (1) to the bottom of the seat cushion and seat cushion cover (2).
  9. Tuck the fabric (1) between the edges of the seat cushion cover (2) and the seat cushion.

  10. Position the seat cushion and cover onto the seat cushion frame.
  11. Fasten the J-channel fasteners (2) to the perimeter of the seat cushion frame (3).
  12. Position the seat cover and fasten the hook and loop fastener (1).
  13. Repeat on the opposite side.

  14. Position the front close out cover (2) to the seat cushion frame.
  15. Install the retainers (1) into the front close out cover (2).

  16. Fasten the hook and loop fastener, securing the seat cushion cover to the front closeout cover.
    NOTE:

    Seat belt buckle anchor is only required when servicing the right side seat.

  17. Install the center seat belt buckle anchor. Refer to BUCKLE, SEAT BELT, INSTALLATION .
  18. Position the rear closeout cover (2) onto the seat cushion frame.
  19. Install the retainers into the rear close out cover (2).

  20. Position the seat adjuster cover (1) to the seat.
  21. Install the fasteners (2) into the seat adjuster cover (1) and tighten securely.
  22. Repeat on the opposite side

    NOTE:

    Seat belt cover is right side seat only.

  23. Position the seat back cover and cushion onto the seat back frame.
  24. With the seat belt inserted though, install the seat belt cover (1).
  25. Install the two seat belt cover fasteners (2) and tighten securely.
  26. Install the headrest sleeves.
    NOTE:

    Right side seat only.

  27. Install the armrest.

    Refer to ARMREST, REAR, INSTALLATION .

    CAUTION:

    When the seat is removed from the vehicle, only use the back rest adjustment lever to move the back rest. Do not use the seat folding lever to move the back rest. Damage may occur to the seat folding mechanism.

  28. If not already in position, temporarily install the recliner lever to the outboard side cover area and carefully move the back rest forward.

  29. Position the seat back cover lower area (1) and engage the hook and loop fastener (2).

  30. Fasten the right and left side zippers (1) and bottom zipper (3).
  31. Tuck the ends of the side zippers (1) and bottom zipper (3) into the bottom of the seat back cover (2).
  32. Install the center seat belt buckle anchor. Refer to BUCKLE, SEAT BELT, INSTALLATION .
  33. Use the recliner lever to carefully move the back rest rearward.

  34. Fasten the seat back cover material into the tabs on the seat folding lever housing.
  35. Position the seat folding lever bezel (3) and insert into housing.

  36. Position the inboard side cover (1) to the seat.
  37. Install the fastener (3) and tighten securely.
  38. Install the fastener located to the rear of the inboard side cover (2) and tighten securely.
  39. Install the fastener covers to both of the fasteners.

  40. Position the outboard side cover (3) to the seat.
  41. Align and insert the recliner lever (2).
  42. Install the fasteners (1 and 4) and tighten securely.
  43. Install the fastener cover into the recliner lever (2) and over the fastener (4).
  44. Install the fastener into the rear of the side cover (5) and tighten securely.
  45. Install the fastener cover into the rear of the side cover (5).
  46. Install the rear seat into the vehicle. Refer to SEAT, REAR, INSTALLATION .
