Seat Back, Front: Disassembly

NOTE:

Before proceeding with the following procedure, review all Warnings and Cautions. Refer to WARNING .

NOTE:

Passenger seat shown. Driver seat similar.

Press the tabs on the head restraint sleeves (2).
While pressing the tabs (2), pull the head restraint (1) straight upward.
Remove the head restraint (1) from the seat back.

Unzip the zippers (1) on both sides of the seat back cover (2)

Unhook lower J-channel (3) on bottom of seat cover (2).
Lift the center section of the seat cover (2) to access the head restraint sleeves.

Using a small flat bladed tool (4) or equivalent, release the head restraint sleeve retaining tabs through the openings (2) in the seat back frame.
Using a soft hammer (3) or equivalent, remove the head restraint sleeves.
Remove the seat back cover and cushion from the seat back frame.

Fold the seat back cover (2) completely over to the front of the seat back cushion (1).

Remove the hog rings (2) that secure the seat back cover (1) to the seat back cushion (3).
Remove the seat back cover (1).
If necessary, remove and discard the heated seat pad from the seat back cushion. Refer to PAD, HEATER, REMOVAL .
If necessary, remove the air bag from the seat back frame. Refer to AIR BAG, SEAT, REMOVAL .
