Riser, Seat, Front: Removal
WARNING:
Disable the airbag system before attempting any component diagnosis or service of the front seats, when equipped with front seat air bags. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery (ground) cable, then wait two minutes for the airbag system capacitor to discharge before performing further diagnosis or service. This is the only sure way to disable the airbag system. Failure to take the proper precautions may result in accidental airbag deployment and possible serious or fatal injury.
- Remove the floor console (1). Refer to CONSOLE, FLOOR, REMOVAL .
- Remove front seat from the side being serviced. Refer to SEAT, FRONT, REMOVAL .
- Remove the cowl side trim panel. Refer to PANEL, COWL TRIM, SIDE, REMOVAL .
- Remove the rear door scuff plate panel. Refer to PLATE, SCUFF, REAR DOOR SILL, REMOVAL .NOTE:
Right side shown, left side typical.
- Lift the front and rear carpets to gain access to the seat riser (2).
- Remove the seat riser fasteners (1).
- Remove the seat riser (2) from the vehicle.
