Cover, Seat Cushion, Front: Installation

NOTE:

Before proceeding with the following procedure, review all Warnings and Cautions. Refer to WARNING  .

Passenger seat shown. Driver seat similar.

  1. If removed, install the seat bottom cover onto the seat bottom cushion. Refer to COVER, SEAT CUSHION, FRONT, ASSEMBLY .
  2. Position the seat bottom cushion and cover onto the seat bottom frame. Carefully route the heated seat and/or the Occupant Detection Sensor (ODS) wire harness leads through the seat bottom frame suspension to the mark previously made, as equipped.
  3. From the bottom of the seat, engage the J-channel (2) that secures the seat cushion cover (1) to the seat cushion frame.
  4. Engage the J-clips (3) that secure the seat cushion cover (1) to the seat cushion frame suspension.
  5. Engage the J-clips (4) that secure the seat cushion cover (1) to the seat cushion frame suspension

  6. Engage the J-clips (1) that secure the seat cover (1) to the seat cushion frame.

  7. From the bottom of the seat, fasten the seat wiring harness routing clips (1).
  8. Connect the occupant detection sensor wiring connector (2). Refer to SENSOR, OCCUPANT DETECTION, DESCRIPTION .
  9. Connect the heated seat wiring connector, if so equipped. Refer to PAD, HEATER, DESCRIPTION .

  10. Position the inboard side cover (1) to the seat and engage the inner retainers by moving it down and rearward.
  11. Install the fasteners (3) into the rear of the inboard side cover (1) and tighten securely.
  12. Install the fasteners (2) from the inboard side cover (1) and tighten securely.
  13. Align and insert the fastener cover into the side cover.

  14. Move the outboard side cover (1) down and rearward, engaging it to the seat.
  15. On the front inner of the side cover (1), inspect the side cover clip (2) to be certain it is fully engaged.

  16. Position the recliner lever (1) and the height adjuster lever (2).
  17. Install the fasteners (3 and 5) into the height adjuster lever (2) and the recliner lever (1). Tighten the fasteners securely.
  18. Install the fastener (4) into the rear of the side cover and tighten securely.
  19. Align and insert the fastener covers into the recliner lever (1) and height adjuster lever (2).
  20. Install the front seat. Refer to INSTALLATION  .
