Adjuster, Seat: Installation
NOTE:
The seat adjuster must be attached with two fastener kits, per side, instead of the riveted pins that were removed. The fastener kits will need to be ordered separately and include:
- Special screw (1)
- Plastic washer (2)
- Spacer (3)
- Nut (4)
- Check the seat adjuster is not damaged.
- Position the seat track adjuster to seat cushion brackets while at the same time inserting the seat adjuster handle (1) into the retainer (3) and fork (2).
- Install the fastener kit as follows:
- Position the seat adjuster (4) and place the plastic washer (2) between the seat track adjuster (6) and seat cushion bracket (5). Continue to engage the guide fork and retainer to the end of the sliding control lever.
- Insert the screw (1) through the seat adjuster (6), plastic washer (2) and seat cushion bracket (5).
- Insert the spacer (3) over the threaded end of the screw then install the nut (4).
- Tighten the nut (4) securely.
- Repeat on the other seat adjuster fastener location.
- If servicing the inboard seat adjuster, position the buckle lower anchor (1) and wiring (2) and install the screw (3). Tighten the screw to 40 Nm (30 lbf-ft).
- Install the seat cushion side shield. Refer to SIDE SHIELDS, SEAT CUSHION, FRONT, INSTALLATION .
- Align the inboard seat adjuster (1) and outboard seat adjuster (2), operating as follows:
- Raise the seat sliding control lever (3) and keep it raised.
- Manually slide the two seat adjusters (1 and 2) to the full rear end of travel.
- Release the sliding control lever (1) and engage the guide retainers with the corresponding attachment teeth.
- Install the front seat. Refer to INSTALLATION .
- Check that the seat adjusters slide correctly.
