Cable, Hood Release: Removal
- Remove the hood release handle (1) and driver side cowl trim panel. Refer to PANEL, COWL TRIM, SIDE, REMOVAL .
- Remove the fastener (2) from the hood release cable base (1).
- Rotate the hood release cable base (1) approximately 1/4 turn to release it from the cowl side.
- Disconnect the hood release cable (2) from the hood latch (1).
- Remove the cowl panel cover. Refer to COVER, COWL PANEL, REMOVAL .
- Release the cable routing clip (1) and cable grommets (2).
- Release the cable routing clips (1).
- Attach a guide wire the end of the hood release cable (2).
- Pull the hood release cable (2) into the passenger compartment, leaving enough guide wire on the exterior of vehicle to assist in the installation.
- Remove the guide wire from the end of the hood release cable and remove the cable from the vehicle.
