Cable, Hood Release: Installation
- Attach the previously installed guide wire, on the interior, to the end of the hood release cable.
- Route and feed the hood release cable (2) into the engine compartment, using the guide wire as an aid.
- When completely routed through, remove the guide wire from the end of the hood release cable (2).
- Engage the cable routing clips (1).
- Engage the cable routing clip (1) fully.
- Insert the cable grommets (2) and make certain they are properly seated.
- Install the cowl panel cover. Refer to COVER, COWL PANEL, INSTALLATION .
- Connect the hood release cable (2) to the hood latch (1).
- Position the hood release cable base to the cowl side panel.
- Rotate the cable base (1) approximately 1/4 turn to engage it to the cowl side.
- Install the fastener (2) into the hood release cable base (1). Tighten the fastener (2) securely.
- Install the driver side cowl trim panel and the hood release handle (1). Refer to PANEL, COWL TRIM, SIDE, REMOVAL .
