Pump, Vacuum: Removal

Remove the engine cover .
Remove the battery. Refer to BATTERY, REMOVAL .

Disconnect the engine RPM sensor wire harness connector (1).
Disconnect the engine oil temperature sensor wire harness connector (2).

Disengage the wire harness from the retaining clips (1).

Remove the bolts (1) from the wire harness retainer bracket.

Remove the screws (1a) and remove the wire harness retainer bracket (1b).

Loosen the clamp and disconnect the idle oil vapor delivery pipe (1).

Loosen the clamp and disconnect the oil vapor recovery pipe (1) from the cylinder head cover.

Remove the bolt (1) from the engine oil vapor pipe middle support bracket.

Remove the bolts and remove the complete oil vapor separator (1).

Remove the O-ring (1) from the cylinder head cover.

NOTE:
Oil may leak from the vacuum pump drive when the pump is removed. Place a shop towel under the pump to prevent oil leakage onto the engine or transmission assembly.
Disconnect the vacuum line from the pump (1).
Remove the vacuum pump mounting bolts (2) and the vacuum pump (1).

Remove and discard the vacuum pump gasket (1). Note the location of the pump drive tab.

If required, remove the screw (1) and the vacuum fitting (2).

The vacuum fitting O-ring seal (1) can be reused if not damaged.
