Pump, Vacuum: Installation
- The vacuum fitting O-ring seal (1) can be reused if not damaged. If removed, lightly lubricate the O-ring seal (1) with clean engine oil and install on the vacuum fitting.
- If removed, install the vacuum fitting (2) to the vacuum pump with the screw (1) tightened to 8 N.m (71 in. lbs.).
- Clean the mating surfaces of the cylinder head and the vacuum pump. Install a new vacuum pump gasket (1).
- Align the pump drive tab with the pump drive slot located on the cam shaft.
- Install the vacuum pump mounting bolts (2). Tighten the bolts to 20 N.m (15 ft. lbs.).
- Connect the vacuum supply line to the pump (1).
- Install the oil vapor separator complete with new O-ring and tighten the bolts (1).
- Install and tighten the engine oil vapor pipe middle bracket bolt (1).
- Connect the oil vapor recovery pipe and tighten the clamp (1).
- Connect the idle oil vapor delivery pipe and tighten the clamp (1).
- Install the wire harness retainer bracket and tighten the bolts.
- Connect the engine RPM sensor wire harness connector (1).
- Connect the engine oil temperature sensor wire harness connector (2).
- Engage the wire harness to the retaining clips (1).
- Install the battery. Refer to BATTERY, INSTALLATION .
- Install the engine cover .
- Run the engine a check the vacuum pump for proper operation.
