Sunshade, Sunroof: Installation
NOTE:
The bowden/drive cables must be clean and not lubricated.
- Carefully fit the bowden/drive cables (3) and slides (2) in the seats of the guides (3).NOTE:
Take care not to damage the slides (2).
- Position the sunshade assembly (1) to the guides (3).
- Install the sunshade fasteners (4) securing the sunshade (1) to the sunroof frame. Tighten the fasteners securely.
- Repeat on the opposite side.
- Position the sunshade mechanism tubes (2) to the sunroof frame.
- Install the mechanism tubes fastener (3) and tighten securely.
- Connect the sunroof wiring connectors (2 and 3).
- Install wire ties (1).NOTE:
When inserting the sunshade motor (1) be careful not to rotate it. This would cause the bowden/drive cables to move and the sunshade to be misaligned during installation.
- Install the sunshade motor (1) by inserting it straight up, engaging the drive gear into the bowden/drive cables.
- Install the fasteners (3) into the sunshade motor (1) and tighten securely.
- Connect the sunshade motor electrical connector (2) to the sunshade motor (1).
- Connect the battery negative cable.
- Perform the sunshade initialization procedure. Refer to MOTOR, SUNROOF, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Perform the sunroof initialization procedure. Refer to MOTOR, SUNROOF, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Inspect the glass and sunshade for proper alignment, adjust if necessary. Refer to GLASS, SUNROOF, FRONT, ADJUSTMENTS .
- Install the headliner. Refer to HEADLINER, INSTALLATION .
