Fascia, Rear: Removal

  1. Open the liftgate.
  2. Disconnect and isolate the negative battery cable.
  3. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to HOISTING, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  4. Remove the tail lights. Refer to LAMP, TAIL STOP TURN, REMOVAL .
  5. Remove the two fasteners (3) attaching the wheelhouse splash shield (2) to the rear the fascia.
  6. Position the wheelhouse splash shield to access the rear fascia to quarter panel fastener (1).
  7. Remove the fastener (1).

  8. Remove the rear fascia (1) lower fasteners (2).

  9. Carefully, pull out on the fascia sides at the quarter panels (2) to disengage the retaining tabs.
  10. Pull up and rearward to disengage the retaining tabs along taillight pocket (1) and liftgate opening (3).
  11. Position the rear fascia slightly rearward to access the back up lamps.
  12. Disconnect the back up lamp wiring connectors.
  13. Disconnect the back up sensor wiring harness connector, if so equipped.
  14. Remove the rear fascia from the vehicle.
