Seat, Front: Installation
WARNING:
On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, disconnecting the 12 volt battery negative cable alone will not power down the 12 volt system. You must perform the 12 volt Power Down procedure before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
NOTE:
Base model shown, other models typical unless noted.
NOTE:
Driver side shown, passenger side typical unless noted.
- Position the seat into the vehicle.
- Connect the wiring harness connectors.
- Loosely install the seat to floor bolts (1) located in the front of the front seat.
- Tighten the bolts to 24 Nm (18 lbf-ft) in the following sequence:
- Front outboard bolt.
- Front inboard bolt.
- Passenger side seats, install the harness cover (2) by aligning and pushing in the retaining pins (1).
- Position the seat forward.
- Loosely install the seat to floor bolts (1, 2) located in the rear area of the front seat.
- Tighten the bolts to 24 Nm (18 lbf-ft) in the following sequence:
- Rear inboard bolt.
- Rear outboard bolt.
- Do not reconnect the battery negative cable at this time. The occupant classification module system verification test procedure should be performed following service of any supplemental restraint system component. Refer to SUPPLEMENTAL RESTRAINT SYSTEM .
- On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, power up the 12 volt system.
Refer to 12 VOLT POWER UP .
- Connect the 12 volt negative battery cable.
