Full Open Retractable Roof, Power: Headliner: Removal
NOTE:
NOTE: Sunshade is held in place by rear seat backs. No fastener removal is required.
- Remove the rear window sunshade (1), if installed. Push down the rear seat release buttons, located at the outboard top of the seat backs and move the seat backs to their folded-down position in order to remove the rear window sunshade.
- Remove the horseshoe bezel (1) from the rear window package tray (3) by removing the three retaining fasteners (2).
- With the use of trim tool (special tool #C-4829A, Remover, Trim) or equivalent, remove the three retaining clips (2) from the rear window package tray (1).
- Remove the package tray from the vehicle.
- Release the headliner strap (2) hook and loop fastener on each side.
- With the use of trim tool (special tool #C-4829A, Remover, Trim) or equivalent, remove the push pin fasteners (1) from the rear lower headliner and c-pillar trim (3).
- Remove the push pin fastener under the lower package tray closeout panel (3).
- Position the c-pillar trim (1) and lower closeout panel (3) aside and release the headliner strap (2) hook and loop fastener.
- Using a small hook pick and a pair of needle-nose pliers, disengage the center pin (3) from the fastener (2).
- Remove the fastener (2), releasing the tension belt from the linkage (1).
- With the use of side cutters or equivalent, cut the wire tie (2) securing the headliner sail panel strap (1) to the linkage. Care must be taken to not cut the wiring harness on the left side
- Release the lower headliner (2) hook and loop fastener from the rear window.
- Remove the sides of the headliner (1) from the rear window side retaining channels.
- Remove the upper headliner (1) from the rear window upper retaining channel.
- Open the retractable roof fully until the front bow (1) tilts back.
- Remove the front bow bolts (2). Repeat on the opposite side.
- Remove the front of the headliner from the retaining channel of the front roof bow (1).
- Close the retractable roof 3/4 of the way.
- Locate the tension belt clip (3) located under the cover near the quarter sail panel area.
- With the use of a grease pencil (2) or equivalent, mark where the front portion of the tension belt (1) meets the edge of the retaining clip.
- For ease of installation, note the routing of the tension belt (1) as it loops through the roof bows and headliner.
- Release the retaining clip and route the tension belt (1) through the roof bows and headliner.
- With the use of hand pressure, carefully pull the outer edge of the headliner (2) bead out of the slot in the roof bow (1).
- Work across the bow (1) until the bead is released.
- Repeat on the remaining roof bows.
- Remove the headliner (2) from the vehicle.
