Console, Overhead: Removal

WARNING:

On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, disconnecting the 12 volt battery negative cable alone will not power down the 12 volt system. You must perform the 12 volt Power Down procedure before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

  1. On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, power down the 12 volt system. Refer to 12-VOLT POWER DOWN .
  2. Disconnect the negative 12 volt battery cable.
  3. Using a trim stick, pry down to release the clips (2), and remove the Overhead Lighting Module (OLM) (3) from the overhead console (1).
  4. Disconnect the electrical connectors from the lighting module as needed, and remove the module.

  5. Pull downward on the sides of the overhead console housing (4) firmly and evenly to disengage the snap clips (3) from the overhead console bracket (1).
  6. Lower the overhead console far enough to access the wire harness connector (2).
  7. Disconnect the wire harness connector from the connector receptacle as needed.
  8. Remove the overhead console.
