Diagnostic Test

  1. TEST FOR INTERMITTENT CONDITION 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, record and erase the DTCs.
    3. Using the Driver Window Switch, attempt to open and close the driver window several times.
    4. Wait 30 seconds.
    5. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  2

      No 

      • Test complete. The condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals and correct pin tension. If the problem ever returns, replace the Window Switch in accordance with the service information. Refer to REMOVAL .
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  2. CHECK THE DRIVER WINDOW SWITCH 
    1. Check the Driver Window Switch for anything that may cause a sticking condition. Repair if necessary and re-check the DTC. If okay, continue testing.
    2. With the scan tool, erase the DTCs.
    3. Disconnect the Driver Window Switch connector.
    4. Cycle the ignition off then on
    5. Wait 30 seconds.
    6. With the scan tool, read the active DTCs.

      Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?

      Yes 

      • Go To  3

      No 

  3. CHECK THE (Q339) DRIVER WINDOW SWITCH SIGNAL (DOWN) CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Disconnect the Body Control Module C4 harness connector.
    3. Measure the resistance between ground and the (Q339) Driver Window Switch Signal (Down) circuit at the Driver Window Switch harness connector.

      Is the resistance below 10K Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Repair the short to ground in the (Q339) Driver Window Switch Signal (Down) circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Go To  4
  4. CHECK THE (Q337) DRIVER WINDOW SWITCH SIGNAL (UP) CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO GROUND 
    1. Measure the resistance between ground and the (Q337) Driver Window Switch Signal (Up) circuit at the Driver Window Switch harness connector.

      Is the resistance below 10K Ohms?

      Yes 

      • Repair the short to ground in the (Q337) Driver Window Switch Signal (Up) circuit.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Replace the BCM in accordance with the service information. Refer to REMOVAL .
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
