Diagnostic Test
- CHECK FOR AN INTERMITTENT CONDITION
- Turn the ignition on.
- With the scan tool, clear all DTCs.
- Turn the Fog Lamps on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display this DTC as active?
Yes
- Go To 2
No
- Test complete, the condition or conditions that originally set this DTC are not present at this time. Using the wiring diagrams as a guide, check all related splices and connectors for signs of water intrusion, corrosion, pushed out or bent terminals, and correct pin tension.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE REAR FOG LAMP RELAY
- Turn the Fog Lamps off.
- Turn the ignition off.
- Remove the Rear Fog Lamp Relay and substitute it with a known good relay.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Turn the Fog Lamps on.
- With the scan tool, read DTCs.
Does the scan tool display DTC: B1024-19-REAR FOG LAMPS - OVER CURRENT?
Yes
- Go To 3
No
- Replace the Rear Fog Lamp Relay.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
- CHECK THE (L239) REAR FOG LAMP RELAY CONTROL CIRCUIT FOR A SHORT TO VOLTAGE
- Turn the ignition off.
- Remove the Rear Fog Lamp Relay.
- Disconnect the BCM C1 harness connector.
- Turn the ignition on.
- Measure the voltage between ground and the (L239) Rear Fog Lamp Relay Control circuit.
Is there any voltage present?
Yes
- Repair the short to voltage in the (L239) Rear Fog Lamp Relay Control circuit.
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
No
- Replace the BCM in accordance with the service information. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
