Full Open Retractable Roof, Power: Headliner: Installation

  1. Open the roof (1) fully until the front edge tilts back.
  2. Install the front bow bolts (2) and tighten securely.
  3. Repeat on the opposite side.
  4. Position the folding top in the fully closed position.

  5. Position the headliner into the vehicle.
  6. Insert the rear of the headliner (1) into the rear window upper retaining channel.

  7. Using trim stick (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) or equivalent, insert the rear bead (2) of the headliner into the center slot in the rear roof bow (1).
  8. Continue working across the bow until the headliner bead (2) is fully seated.
  9. Inspect the headliner bead to the roof bow seam to be certain the bead is fully seated.
  10. Repeat on the next four headliner beads and roof bows, progressively working forward.
  11. To release the tension on the headliner, position the folding top approximately 610 mm. (2 ft.) open.
  12. Install the front headliner bead into the next roof bow.

  13. Insert the front hard edge of the headliner into the slot in the front roof bow.
    NOTE:

    Be certain there are no twists in the tension belts (1) as they are routed through the bows.

  14. Route the tension belts (1) through the roof bows as noted during the removal.

  15. Insert the front portion of the tension belt (1) into the clip (3) on the rear portion of the tension belt.
  16. Pull the tension belt (1) through until the mark made during removal lines up with the retaining clip (1).
  17. Secure the tension belt retaining clip (3).

  18. With the use of a wire tie (2) attach the headliner sail panel strap (1) and wiring harness (left side only) to the linkage.
  19. Repeat on the opposite side.

  20. Attach the tension belt/tether to the linkage (1). Repeat on the opposite side.
  21. Engage the center pin (3) into the fastener (2).
  22. Repeat on the opposite side.

  23. Insert the sides of the headliner (1) into the rear window retaining channels.
  24. Attach the lower headliner (2) hook and loop fastener to the rear window.

  25. Position the c-pillar trim (1) and lower closeout panel aside and secure the headliner strap (2) hook and loop fastener.
  26. Install the push pin fasteners under the lower package tray closeout panel (3).

  27. Install the push pin fasteners (1) to the lower headliner and c-pillar trim (3).
  28. Secure the headliner strap (2) hook and loop fasteners on each side

  29. Position the rear window package tray (1).
  30. Install the push pin retainers (2) to the package tray (1).

  31. Position the horseshoe bezel (1).
  32. Install the three fasteners (2) securing the bezel (1) to the package tray (3). Tighten the fasteners securely.

  33. Install the rear wind deflector/windscreen (1).
  34. Inspect and cycle the folding top assembly for proper function.
