Unit, Electronic Drive: Installation

WARNING:
When performing any repairs that involve contact with high voltage components or systems, the technician performing repairs on the vehicle must verify that the system remains powered down during high voltage repairs.
- This must be done by removing the service disconnect.
- The high voltage power down procedure must also be performed to ensure that the vehicle is properly powered down.
- The technician must know the whereabouts of the service disconnect throughout the repair.
- The technician must ensure that no one reconnects the service disconnect while service is being performed.
- The technician must recheck that the service disconnect has not been reinstalled in cases where the vehicle was unattended.
- Attach the electric drive unit (EDU) to a suitable transmission jack, and raise the EDU to align the motor mounts with the corresponding brackets.
- Install and tighten the center, lower motor mount through-bolt (1) to 100 Nm (74 lbf-ft).
- Install and tighten the RH front motor mount through-bolt (1) to 100 Nm (74 lbf-ft).
- Install the LH motor mount through-bolt (1) and tighten to 100 Nm (74 lbf-ft).
- Detach the transmission jack from the EDU.
- Connect the resolver electrical connector (2), and the temperature sensor electrical connector (1).
- Connect the Park Lock Motor connector (1).
- Install the park lock motor wire harness retention bracket to the gearbox and tighten the bolt to 6 Nm (53 lbf-in).
- Install and tighten the ground strap bolt (1) at the front of the RH motor mount to 12 Nm (9 lbf-ft).
- Connect the electric motor high-voltage electrical connector (1).
- Connect the two coolant hoses (1) to the electric motor, and install the clamps.
- Remove the hose-pinching pliers from the coolant hoses at the electric motor.
- Install the half shafts. Refer to INSTALLATION

- Install the two battery coolant heater (BCH) nuts (2) and tighten to 20 Nm (15 lbf-ft).
- Install the BCH ground strap bolt (1) and tighten to 12 Nm (9 lbf-ft).
- Install the washer bottle, and install and tighten the two washer bottle bolts (1) to 7 Nm (62 lbf-in).
- Install the underbody brace (2), and install and tighten the four underbody brace bolts (1) to 100 Nm (74 lbf-ft).
- Install the RH front wheelhouse splash shield. Refer to INSTALLATION

- Fill the EDU with proper gear lubricant. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS .
- Install the 12 volt battery tray and 12 volt battery. Refer to BATTERY, INSTALLATION and TRAY, BATTERY, INSTALLATION .
- Perform the LOSS OF ISOLATION CHECK. Refer to LOSS OF ISOLATION CHECK

- Power-up the high-voltage system. Refer to HIGH-VOLTAGE POWER UP .
- Fill the power electronics coolant level. Refer to HIGH-VOLTAGE BATTERY COOLING AND HEATING SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .

- Clear any stored DTC's that may be set.
- Perform the Resolver Relearn procedure. Refer to RESOLVER RELEARN
