Glass, Door: Removal

WARNING:
On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, disconnecting the 12 volt battery negative cable alone will not power down the 12 volt system. You must perform the 12 volt Power Down procedure before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Raise the glass into the fully up position.
- Remove the door trim panel. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Remove the weather shield from the door.
- Remove the inner belt molding (1).
- On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, power up the 12 volt system.
Refer to ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Connect the 12 volt negative battery cable.
- Temporarily install the glass switch pod and lower the glass until the white regulator tab is visible in the access hole (1).
- On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, power down the 12 volt system. Refer to ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Disconnect the negative 12 volt battery cable and remove the glass switch pod.
- Remove the weather strip (1).
- With the help of an assistant holding the glass, release the glass regulator tab (1) and lift the glass (2) up to disengage.
- Lift the glass up and secure it with tape or a wedge to prevent it from falling.
- Remove the top retaining nut (1) that secures the rear glass run to the door.
- Remove the bottom retaining nut (2) that secures the rear glass run to the door.
- Remove the rear glass run (1) from the door through the lower rear access hole.
- Remove the retaining nuts (1) that secures the front glass run (2) to the door.
- Remove the front glass run (2) through the speaker cavity.
- With the help of an assistant holding the glass, remove the tape or wedge securing the glass.
- Lower the glass (1) fully, carefully guiding the glass below the glass regulator tab.
- With the glass in the fully lowered position, move the glass slightly forward to be certain the rear guide tab is released.
- Raise the rear portion of the glass and remove the glass (1) from the door.
