Door - Front: Door: Removal

WARNING:
On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, disconnecting the 12 volt battery negative cable alone will not power down the 12 volt system. You must perform the 12 volt Power Down procedure before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, power down the 12 volt system. Refer to ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Disconnect the negative 12 volt battery cable.
- Remove the cowl/scuff panel. Refer to REMOVAL .
- On the driver's side, remove the hood latch release handle.
- Detach the retaining cover (1) from the cowl sheet metal.
- Detach the wiring connector (2) from the cover (1) and disconnect the wiring harness connectors.
- Open the door.
- Remove the harness boot (1) at the body side.
- Pull the wiring harness (2) from the bodyside opening (3).
- Remove the fastener (2) securing the door's check strap to the body side.
- Remove the fasteners (5) securing the door hinges (1, 3) to the body side (4, 5).
- With the help of an assistant, lift the door up and out to remove.
