Torque Converter: Description

The torque converter consists of the converter case, pump impeller, turbine runner, stator, one-way clutch, and lock-up clutch. The torque converter transmits and amplifies torque by means of the ATF inside it. The lock-up clutch is a direct coupling between the engine and automatic transmission that is intended to improve fuel efficiency.
