Sensor, Temperature, Air Outlet: Removal: Floor

WARNING:

On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, disconnecting the 12 volt battery negative cable alone will not power down the 12 volt system. You must perform the 12 volt Power Down procedure before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.

  1. Disconnect and isolate the 12-volt negative battery cable.
  2. Power down the high-voltage system. Refer to ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
  3. Remove the passenger side silencer panel. Refer to REMOVAL .
  4. Remove the shifter housing trim panels to gain access to the air outlet temperature sensor (2), located on the lower right side of the HVAC housing (3). Refer to REMOVAL .
  5. Disconnect the HVAC wire harness (1) from the air outlet temperature sensor.

  6. Using Trim Stick (special tool #C-4755, Trim Stick) (3) or equivalent, disengage the air duct temperature sensor (1) from the right side of the HVAC housing (2) and remove the sensor.
