Diagnostic Test

CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC
1. Turn the ignition on.
2. With the scan tool, read DTCs and record on the repair order.
  Is the DTC active or pending?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 2
  No
  - Perform the INTERMITTENT CONDITION diagnostic procedure. Refer to INTERMITTENT CONDITION .
IS THE BODY CONTROL MODULE (BCM) ACTIVE ON THE CAN C BUS
1. With the scan tool, select ECU View.
2. Verify that the Body Control Module (BCM) is active on the bus.
  Is the BCM active on the bus?
  
  Yes
  - Go To 3
  No
  - Perform the No Response From BCM diagnostic procedure. Refer to NO RESPONSE FROM BCM (BODY CONTROL MODULE) .
DTCS STORED OR ACTIVE IN THE BCM
1. Check for DTCs in the BCM.
  Are any DTCs active or stored in the BCM ?
  
  Yes
  - Perform the appropriate diagnostic procedure. Refer to DIAGNOSTIC CODE INDEX .
  No
  - Replace and program the Powertrain Control Module (PCM) in accordance with the service information. Refer to MODULE, POWERTRAIN CONTROL (PCM), REMOVAL .
  - .
  - Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .
