    1. Remove the CMP Sensor.
    2. Inspect the Camshaft Tone Wheel for damage in accordance with the service information. Refer to CAMSHAFT, ENGINE, REMOVAL . The "Clear Misfire TLC" Procedure  must be performed every time there has been a repair/replacement made to a CMP Sensor and/or CKP sensor, flywheel, valvetrain, timing chain or gears. Failure to do so can cause a misfire fault to set. With the scan tool, perform the "Cam/Crank Relearn" Procedure.

Is the Camshaft Tone Wheel damaged?

      Yes

      • Replace the Camshaft Tone Wheel in accordance with the service information. Refer to SENSOR, CAMSHAFT POSITION .
      • Perform the POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to POWERTRAIN VERIFICATION TEST .

      No

      • Go To  7
  7. REPLACE THE CMP SENSOR AND RETEST FOR DTCS
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Replace the CMP Sensor in accordance with the service information. Refer to SENSOR, CAMSHAFT POSITION .
    3. Connect the component and PCM harness connectors.
    4. Turn the ignition on.
    5. With the scan tool, erase all DTCs.
    6. Turn the ignition off for a minimum of 10.0 seconds.
    7. Turn the ignition on.
    8. Using the When Monitored and Set Conditions above and recorded data, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
