Cylinder Head: Inspection

NOTE:

Typical Cylinder Head shown.

  1. Check for cylinder head warping with a straight edge (2) and feeler gauge (1).
  2. Cylinder head must be flat within specification. Refer to SPECIFICATIONS  .
  3. Remove carbon and varnish deposits from inside of valve guides with a reliable guide cleaner.
  4. Inspect the following components and verify that they are within specification : Refer to SPECIFICATIONS  .
    • Springs
    • Valve Seats
    • Valve Guides
    • Valves
