Lever, Parking Brake: Removal

WARNING:
On vehicles equipped with the high voltage system, disconnecting the 12-volt battery negative cable alone will not power down the 12-volt system. You must perform the 12-volt Power Down procedure before proceeding. Failure to follow these instructions may result in possible serious or fatal injury.
- Power down the high-voltage system. Refer to ELECTRIC VEHICLE CONTROL SYSTEM, STANDARD PROCEDURE .
- Disconnect and isolate the battery negative cable.
- Block the tire and wheel assemblies so the vehicle does not move once the vehicle parking brake lever is released.
- Remove the floor console. Refer to REMOVAL .
- Position parking brake boot (1) so that the mounting bolts and switch can be accessed.
- Release and lower the parking brake lever (5).
- Loosen the adjusting nut (4) on the equalizer and disconnect the brake actuation cables from the equalizer.
- Disconnect the wiring harness connector (6) from the parking brake switch.
- Remove the bolts (2) attaching the parking brake lever (5) to the vehicle.
- Remove the parking brake lever (5).
