Diagnostic Test

  1. CHECK FOR AN ACTIVE DTC 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. With the scan tool, read Amplifier DTCs and record on the repair order.
    3. With the scan tool, erase DTCs.
    4. Using the When Monitored and Set Conditions above, operate the vehicle in the conditions that set the DTC.
    5. With the scan tool, read Amplifier DTCs.

      Did the DTC return?

      Yes 

      • Go To 2

      No 

      • End of Diagnosis.
  2. CHECK THE CAN LINE WIRING BETWEEN BODY COMPUTER AND AMPLIFIER 
    1. Turn the ignition off.
    2. Check that the CAN connections between the BCM and the Amplifier are not faulty. In particular, that there are no open circuit or short circuit problems, no loose pins or connectors at Amplifier and BCM.

      Are there any faults present in the wiring or connectors?

      Yes 

      • Restore the wiring, correct connections and operation.
      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .

      No 

      • Go To  3
  3. CHECK THE BODY COMPUTER POWER SUPPLY 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. Check that the Body Computer power supply is correct.

      Is the power supply to the Body Computer correct?

      Yes 

      • Go To  4

      No 

  4. CHECK THE AMPLIFIER POWER SUPPLY 
    1. Turn the ignition on.
    2. Check that the Amplifier power supply is correct.

      Is the power supply to the Amplifier correct?

      Yes 

      • Go To  5

      No 

  5. CHECK THE BODY COMPUTER OPERATION 
    1. Check that the Body Computer is working correctly.

      Is the Body Computer working correctly?

      Yes 

      • Go to  6

      No 

      • Replace and program the Body Control Module (BCM) in accordance with the Service Information.

        Refer to REMOVAL .

      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
  6. CHECK THE AMPLIFIER OPERATION 
    1. Check that the Amplifier is working correctly.

      Is the Amplifier working correctly?

      Yes 

      • End of diagnosis.

      No 

      • Replace the Amplifier in accordance with the Service Information.

        Refer to REMOVAL .

      • Perform the BODY VERIFICATION TEST. Refer to BODY VERIFICATION TEST .
